Vijay Hazare Trophy 2026: Sarafaraz Khan has scripted history as he smashed the fastest fifty in List A as an Indian batter. He smashed his fifty off 15 balls in their Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Punjab.
The earlier record of hitting the fastest 50 in this format by an Indian batter was off 16 balls.
Sri Lanka's Kaushalya Weeraratne has smashed the fastest fifty in this format. He achieved the milestone in just 12 balls in a match between Ragama Cricket Club and Kurunegala Youth Cricket Club in 2005.

Sarfaraz had played 20 balls in his knock, where he had hit seven fours and 5 sixes and had scored 62 runs. He was batting at a strike rate of 310, but Latv was dismissed by Mayank Markande.
Gurnoor Brar had earlier dismissed Musheer Khan and Angkrish Raghuvanshi. Musheer had scored 21 runs off 22 balls in which he had hit one four and two sixes, whereas Raghuvanshi had hit 3 fours in his knock of 23 runs.
Hardik slams 9 sixes
Hardik Pandya also played in a Vijay Hazare Trophy match, where he had smashed 75 runs off just 31 balls.
He brought up his fifty off just 19 balls, where he had smashed nine sixes and two fours.
He was batting at a staggering strike rate of 241.02 and had stitched a partnership of 90 runs for the 5th wicket with Priyanshu Moliya, who had scored 103 runs off 106 balls.
Apart from Hardik and Priyanshu, Jitesh Sharma also performed well, scoring 73 runs off 33 balls.
Jitesh, who was snubbed from the T20 World Cup 2026 squad, had hit 8 fours and 4 sixes in his knock.
