New Zealand have announced their squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against India, with Mitchell Santner set to lead the side. The 15-member squad includes seven fast bowlers as New Zealand look to manage their players’ workload during a busy international schedule.
Adam Milne is set to return to T20I cricket after nearly a year. The experienced pacer last played a T20I for New Zealand against Zimbabwe.
However, the Kiwis will be without all-rounder Rachin Ravindra, who has been ruled out of the series with a shoulder injury.
The India-New Zealand T20I series will begin in Christchurch on October 22.
Seven Fast Bowlers Selected
New Zealand have opted for a strong pace group, with Milne joined by Lockie Ferguson, Matt Henry, Kyle Jamieson, Jacob Duffy, Zak Foulkes and Nathan Smith.
The selection is understood to be part of New Zealand’s workload management plan, with the team facing a packed schedule across formats.
Thirteen members of the squad were also part of New Zealand’s T20 World Cup 2026 campaign. Milne and Michael Bracewell had missed the tournament after being ruled out with injuries.

Rachin Ravindra Ruled Out For Six Weeks
Ravindra is expected to remain out of action for around six weeks after suffering a shoulder injury during a promotional event linked to the India series.
The injury means he will miss all five T20Is against India. However, he is expected to recover in time for the three-match ODI series, which begins on November 4.
Ravindra has become an important part of New Zealand’s white-ball setup, making his absence a notable setback for the visitors.
Seifert, Allen Return
Tim Seifert and Finn Allen have been included in the T20I squad after featuring for New Zealand at the 2026 T20 World Cup.
Pacer Ben Sears, meanwhile, has not been picked as he continues his rehabilitation from an ankle injury.
New Zealand will now prepare for a five-match T20I battle against India before the two teams switch to the 50-over format in November.
