Rajeev Shukla, who is the vice president of BCCI, will be representing the country as the executive board member of the Asian Cricket Council. Shukla would be grabbing the spot left by Jay Shah, who stepped down as the president, as revealed by the BCCI on Friday.
At the same time, Ashish Shelar, who is the ex-BCCI treasurer has been made a BCCI representative for the ACB board as an ex-officio board member.
Jay Shah stepped down as the ACC President in December last year after serving in the position for the last three years. Shah, who was the BCCI secretary, became the ICC President unopposed. He officially took up that responsibility in December last year.

"With Mr Jay Shah taking over as the Chair of the International Cricket Council (ICC), his position on the ACC Board became vacant. Until recently, he was the President of the ACC. Mr Rajeev Shukla will now represent the BCCI as an Executive Board Member on the ACC Board," the BCCI issued a statement.
Devajit Saikia, who is the current BCCI secretary, sent his best wishes to Rajeev Shukla and Ashish Shelar for their new roles in ACC.
With Jay Shah stepping down, Shammi Silva, who was the chief of the Sri Lanka cricket board became the president of the ACC.
Rajeev Shukla would be playing a huge role in the ACC. He also went to Lahore to watch the second semifinal of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 between New Zealand and South Africa.
In the press conference in Lahore, Rajeev Shukla enquired as to when would arch-rivals India and Pakistan start playing bilateral series again.
"As far as bilateral cricket relations between India and Pakistan are concerned, the decision is in the hands of the government. Whatever the Government of India tells us, we will follow that. Moreover, it is the policy of the BCCI-and I believe it would be the same for the PCB as well that any bilateral series should take place on either country's soil. It should not be played at a neutral venue; this has been a consistent policy of the BCCI," Rajeev Shukla told reporters in the press conference.
The 2025 Asia Cup, which will be held in the shortest format, will take place in the UAE later this year.
