SRH vs RR IPL 2026 Eliminator: Pat Cummins said Sunrisers Hyderabad will play aggressive cricket and adopt a bolder approach, rather than retreating to conservative tactics under pressure. They will clash with the Rajasthan Royals in the Eliminator in New Chandigarh, with the winner advancing to the title contest.

The Hyderabad-based franchise is the only team in the tournament's history to have captured the title after starting in the Eliminator, a feat they accomplished in IPL 2016. Cummins envisions they can recreate those heroics, even though they must triumph in three consecutive matches to seize the title.

“You want to stick to what brought you here, to your strengths, but you can feel the stakes are higher and nerves are sharper," Cummins said, his voice carrying both calm and resolve. "It’s a different kind of pressure, but embracing it makes us stronger."

“I always ask myself, ‘Will I look back with pride and no regrets when this is over?’ That’s the mindset I bring into every final, and I hope the team draws strength from that too," he shared.

The SRH skipper underscores that teams shouldn't abandon their strategies when under pressure.

“Instead of tightening up, we’ll double down and be even bolder," he stated firmly. "We know what it takes—three wins. We’ve done it before. That belief runs deep in the group. Anything is possible when we trust ourselves."

Special Plans For Vaibhav?

He recognized that Rajasthan Royals' star opener, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, will demand special strategies following his stellar performances this year. He has hammered 583 runs across 14 matches at a staggering strike rate of 232 and emerges as the Rajasthan-based franchise's top run-getter.

“It’s always a balance of, as a bowler, understanding what you do well and how you’re going to bowl to your strengths. But when there are probably one or two players in every lineup who can take the game away from the opposition, you do spend a little bit longer working on a Plan B or Plan C," he added.

“We’ll do everything to rise to the occasion against him. Even though he scored a hundred last time, there were spells where we stood tall and fought hard. Every ball, every moment matters—those lessons make us stronger. We’re ready to face him—and whatever comes next," he concluded.

After already overpowering the Riyan Parag-led side twice this year during the group stage, Cummins has asserted that these victories will grant them an edge as they storm into the Eliminator.
