CBSE Board Exam 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that Class 12 board examinations for 40 subjects could not be conducted in Asian countries in 2026 due to the ongoing regional crisis. Previously, an assessment scheme was introduced on March 27, 2026. Results for candidates were declared on May 13, followed by the results for private candidates.
The Board has now decided to conduct examinations for all eligible students whose results were based on that assessment scheme. The new examinations will cover those 40 subjects, 20 academic and 20 skill-based, that were not held during the original examination cycle.
Who Can Appear For The Class 12 Fresh Exams?
Regular students studying in CBSE-affiliated schools in the affected West Asian countries can appear if their List of Candidates (LOC) was submitted for the 2026 main exams and their results were declared under the assessment scheme.
Private candidates from CBSE-affiliated schools in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE may apply between September 22 and September 26, 2026. There will be no fee for this examination. Only students who appeared for the main 2026 examination are eligible to apply; new candidates cannot apply.

Are There Any Changes In CBSE Class 12 Fresh Examinations?
No changes will be made to the subjects. Re-examinations are not permitted for papers that have already been conducted. The results of this examination will be final and will replace the previous marks. Examination centers will remain the same. Exam dates will be announced after the application submission period concludes.
