Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana: Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi on Friday announced "Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PMVBRY)" and said those getting the first job in the private sector will get Rs 15,000 from the Centre. PM emphasised the immediate implementation of the scheme, reflecting the government’s drive to foster a strong employment ecosystem in both the private sector and wider economy.

Delivering his address to the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort on the 79th Independence Day, PM Modi said the Rs 1 lakh crore scheme will come into effect immediately. He said the scheme will benefit more than 3.5 crore people.

PMVBRY aims to create new jobs across all sectors, with a strong emphasis on manufacturing. The Ministry of Labour & Employment indicates the scheme consists of two parts: Part A focuses on first-time employees and Part B provides incentives to employers.

Under Part A, individuals securing their first job will get up to Rs 15,000 in two instalments, directly transferred through directly benefit transfer (DBT) using Aadhaar authentication. The payment is conditional upon 6 and 12 months of continuous employment and a financial literacy course.

For employers, Part B offers up to Rs 3,000 monthly incentive for each new employee earning up to Rs 1 lakh, provided jobs are sustained for at least 6 months, with additional support for manufacturing up to 4 years. Employers must hire at least two new employees (if <50 staff) or 5 (if ≥50 staff), with incentives paid directly into their PAN-linked accounts after meeting eligibility.
