Pune Schools Holiday:  Due to heavy rains in many parts of the district and the Weather Department's forecast for more rains, the administration has announced a holiday today, July 25, for schools in Pune city, Pimpri Chinchwad, and the western parts of the district.

As per an order issued by District Collector Suhas Diwase, all primary and secondary schools in Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad, Maval, Mulshi, Bhor, Velha, Khed, Ambegaon, Junnar, and Haveli have been declared closed for the day. Parents and students are advised to contact their respective schools for more details.

According to data shared by the district administration, Lonavla received 300 mm of rainfall, Lavasa received 417 mm, and Junnar recorded 214 mm of rainfall in the past 24 hours ending at 7:30 am.

In his order, Diwase also mentioned that the fire brigade and disaster management cell have been deployed in low-lying areas. People have been advised not to step out unless absolutely necessary. As per the IMD's forecast, heavy to intense rain is anticipated in the next few hours.
