UPSC Recruitment 2026: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has launched a major recruitment drive under its Direct Recruitment Scheme 2026, announcing more than 400 vacancies across 98 posts in various ministries, departments and Union Territory administrations. Interested candidates can submit their applications through the Online Recruitment Application (ORA) portal. The registration process commenced on June 13 and will continue till July 3, 2026, up to 6 PM.

The recruitment drive offers opportunities in diverse sectors, including technical, scientific, administrative, medical and academic fields. Candidates are advised to carefully go through the official notification before applying, as educational qualifications, age limits and experience requirements differ according to the post. The vacancies are spread across several Central Government ministries and Union Territory administrations, providing opportunities to aspirants from different professional backgrounds.

Candidates can apply online through the UPSC Online Recruitment Application (ORA) portal. Since the recruitment covers 98 different posts, eligibility conditions vary from one position to another. Applicants should carefully verify educational qualifications, age limits and work experience requirements mentioned in the official notification before submitting their applications. The application window will remain open until July 3, 2026.

Major Vacancies Announced by UPSC

Several key positions have been notified under the recruitment drive. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has advertised 19 Operations Officers and 15 Air Safety Officers posts. The Ministry of MSME has announced 50 vacancies for Assistant Director Grade-II (Economic). Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has notified 121 Specialist Grade-III posts, making it one of the largest categories in the recruitment cycle.

Opportunities in Defence and Educational Institutions

The Ministry of Defence has announced multiple vacancies at the College of Military Engineering (CME), Pune. These include 40 Assistant Professor and 10 Associate Professor positions. In addition, vacancies have been announced for Junior Scientific Officers, Assistant Legal Advisers, Scientists, Medical Officers, Lecturers, Principals, Research Officers and Assistant Registrars in various departments and institutions.

Vacancies Spread Across Multiple Ministries and UT Administrations

The recruitment drive covers ministries such as Agriculture, Civil Aviation, Defence, Environment, Finance, Home Affairs, AYUSH, Health and Mining. Union Territory administrations, including Ladakh and the Andaman and Nicobar Administration, have also advertised vacancies for administrative, healthcare and educational posts, offering a wide range of career opportunities for eligible candidates.
