Bholaa Shankar Box Office Collection Day 11: 'Bholaa Shankar' had been expected to emerge as the front-runner among the movies released last week. However, this anticipation didn't come to fruition, as other films took precedence over Chiranjeevi's star-studded feature. The action-packed narrative made its debut on August 11, with great fanfare, but unfortunately kicked off with negative word-of-mouth.
After raking in a staggering Rs 16 crore on its opening day, 'Bholaa Shankar' faced a rapid decline on the very next day, resulting in its swift exit from numerous theatres. This outcome is particularly disappointing considering the reputation of its lead, Chiranjeevi.
Interestingly, the failure of 'Bholaa Shankar' turned out to be a blessing in disguise for the simultaneous release, 'Jailer.' Rajinikanth's film, 'Jailer,' hit the screens on August 10, a day before 'Bholaa Shankar,' and commenced with a moderately positive response despite initial reservations.
Helmed by Meher Ramesh, 'Bholaa Shankar' presents a fresh perspective on the hit Tamil movie 'Vedalam,' which originally featured Ajith in the protagonist's role. Apart from Chiranjeevi, Tamannaah Bhatia and Keerthy Suresh also played important roles in the film.
Despite the high expectations, the initial box office performance of the movie was quite disheartening for Chiranjeevi’s fans. Since its second day of release, the movie experienced a noticeable drop in its box office earnings. The film's performance continued to wane on the third and fourth days, resulting in a more modest collection of Rs 5.1 crore and Rs 6 lakhs, respectively. As of now, the movie's total earnings have reached Rs 29.85 crore.
About Bhola Shankar:
The movie portrays the story of an inexperienced young man named Shankar, who arrives in the bustling metropolitan city of Mumbai to fulfil his dreams. There, he reunites with a childhood friend from his hometown who has transformed into a criminal. Shankar's sole remaining relative in the world is his wealthy uncle residing in the US. The uncle conveys to Shankar that he will pass on his entire estate to him only if he chooses to settle down, otherwise, he intends to make a charitable donation of his assets.
Upon learning about this, Shankar's friend deceives by providing inaccurate information that he is already married and has a child. Consequently, the uncle decides to visit Mumbai to meet his newly discovered family. This is where the plot unfolds, and the ensuing drama centres around how Shankar and his friend, with the assistance of a young widow and her child, engage in a series of schemes to manipulate the uncle.
