When Life Gives You Tangerines is currently one of the most talked about Kdrama, which was released on Netflix this month. It's making headlines for IU’s massive paycheck for her latest Netflix show. However, the production team of When Life Gives You Tangerines denied the claims. There were reports, lead actors IU and Park Bogum were paid a whopping amount of ₩500 million KRW (approximately 346,000 USD/ Rs 3 crore) per episode. 

As per Koreaboo, the rumours sparked after a viral post suggested that actor Park Hyungsik received the same amount for Doctor Slump. On the other hand, Squid Game 2 star Lee Jungjae earned  ₩1.00 billion KRW (about $693,000 USD/ Rs 6 crore) per episode. As quoted by Koreaboo, Pan Entertainment said in a statement, “The reports of IU receiving 500 million KRW per episode are completely untrue.” The real paycheck amount has not been revealed yet. 

About When Life Gives You Tangerines

The story is about a spirited girl and a steadfast boy’s love story blossoms into a lifelong tale in Jeju. Their relationship sees several setbacks and triumphs which proves love endures across time. The show features Park Bogum, UI, Kim Seonho, Lee Junyoung, Park Haejoon, Moon Sori, Yeom Hyeran and Oh Jungse in key roles. The kdrama compromises of eight episodes which is streaming on Netflix. Eight episodes have aired across volume 1 and 2. On the other hand, volume 3 is set to be released on Netflix on March 21. The web series secured at no 1 position in over 10 regions, according to several reports. 

IU also known as Lee Ji Eun, has worked on several projects including Hotel del Luna, My Mister, Dream High, The Producers, Hyori's Homestay and You're the Best Lee Soon Shin to name a few.
