Fukrey 3 starring Richa Chadha as Bholi Punjaban, Pulkit Samrat as Hunny Gulati, Varun Sharma as Choocha, Manjot Singh as Lali Halwai, and Pankaj Tripathi as Panditji returned with the third installment in the successful franchise. Director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba again helmed the Bollywood film and the star cast claimed that there is no one better than him to helm the film. While the trailer has already set the bar high, fans are missing Ali Fazal who played the role of Zafar in Fukrey and Fukrey Returns. In an exclusive interview with Jagran English, the Fukrey gang talked about their experience of working in the film and also revealed the real reason behind Ali Zafar's absence in Fukrey 3. Richa Chadha claimed that she missed the actor on sets but Covid ruined the plans.
Ali Fazal To Make Cameo Appearance In Fukrey 3?
When asked about Ali Fazal being missed in Fukrey 3, Richa Chadha, Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma and Manjot Singh expressed their disappointment in his absence and said that they all missed him on the sets. Ali Fazal's wife and 'Bholi Punjaban' Richa Chadha said, "The dates of the film shifted a bit because of Covid so he had taken on another project. But he is having a lot of FOMO." She further claimed, "The first few days on the sets it felt incomplete without him, not just for me but everyone missed him." To this, Pulkit Samrat jokingly added, "Even the production was like budget git kaise gaya humara, Mirzapur ka badh gaya hai. (how has our budget decreased, the budget of Mirzapur has increased since they have Ali Fazal)."

Is Fukrey 3 A Gamble?
Many times Bollywood has witnessed sequels facing rock bottom even after the massive success of the original first films in the franchises. Will Fukrey 3 be able to live up to the hype created by the successful outcomes of Fukrey and Fukrey Returns?
Reflecting on the same, the star cast revealed that they never had any second thoughts about doing Fukrey 3. Richa Chadha confessed her confidence in the creative team and said, "Our director and writer, he is so particular. So if the film is passed through his hands, it is going to work. He's so particular that he will not write it if he doesn't think it's going to be better than the last one. He is his own worst critic. Vipul Vig, the writer and Rigg, they worked together."
She added, "It is a gamble only if you've not worked as hard on the script. If the people are calling out characters on the road that means the characters have stayed with the audience. So it's all in the writing. We're coming after so long because it took so long to make it properly."
Adding to this, Pulkit Samrat said, "There's a reason why only Raj Kumar Hirani can make a Munnabhai. Similarly, only Mrighdeep Singh Lamba can make Fukre. So we are in safe hands."

Just like the earlier two films, Fukrey 3 is based in Delhi. The film shows the wild and carefree yet dangerous side of the city. Calling Delhi a main character in the film, Varun Sharma aka Choocha said, "Delhi is the soul of Fukrey. How our director visualizes it, how he's written the film, how it's shaped up. Delhi is just not a city. It's a character."
Fukrey 3 had its theatrical release on 28th September. The film has already amassed great reviews considering its hilarious and intriguing trailer. Ahead of its release, the OTT streaming destination for Fukrey 3 has been revealed. Following a few months of its theatrical run, 'Fukrey 3' will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
