Netflix has recently unveiled the first look of actor Fardeen Khan from the upcoming OTT series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. The series marks filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali's debut in the digital space and is highly anticipated by fans and critics alike.

Fardeen Khan, known for his roles in movies like Jungle, Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya and No Entry, is making a comeback to acting after a gap of nearly 15 years. His last appearance was in the 2010 film Dulha Mil Gaya. In Heeramandi, Khan plays the character of Wali Mohammed, a role that promises to showcase his talent spectacularly.

The series, set during the freedom struggle movement in India, is described as an epic saga of love, power, revenge, and freedom. It explores the cultural reality of Heeramandi, a dazzling district, through the stories of courtesans and their patrons. The backdrop of the Indian freedom struggle of the 1940s adds depth and intensity to the narrative.

In addition to Fardeen Khan, the series features a stellar cast including Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal, Aditi Rao Hydari and Sanjeeda Shaikh in lead roles. The ensemble cast has already created a buzz about the show, which is set to premiere on Netflix on May 1.

Apart from Fardeen Khan, Netflix also unveiled character posters of senior actor Shekhar Suman, his son Adhyayan Suman, and Taha Shah. Shekhar Suman essays the role of Zulfikar, while Adhyayan Suman plays Zoravar. Taha Shah portrays the character of Tajdar, a nawab's son torn between tradition and love.

Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar is based on the concept by Moin Beg and is created and directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali himself. The series promises to be a visual treat, combining Bhansali's signature grandeur with a compelling storyline and powerhouse performances.
