Adarsh Gourav and Shanaya Kapoor-led Tu Yaa Main showed the fear of a scary crocodile, combined with a lethal on-screen dynamic. However, the survivor thriller was unable to get enough footfall in theatres. According to Sacnilk, the film earned only Rs 3.28 crore at the box office in four days. Adarsh Gourav has urged viewers to watch the 'small, commercial' film in theatres. He admitted feeling 'confused and helpless' when he was reading everything that was being developed.

Adarsh Gourav shared an emotional note on Instagram, explaining his role, thanking the entire cast, and requesting fans to see the film on the big screen. The actor went on to acknowledge that the reception of Tu Yaa Main was off to a 'slow start'.

Adarsh Gourav wrote, "It's important that people show up in bigger no.s and watch smaller commercial films like ours too cause it gives a real chance to other writers and directors to develop films that are clutter breaking. It encourages producers to back films that are trying do anything unique. Plus this one is tailor made for a big screen experience. We are off to a slow start but we’ve been feeling all the love coming our way. If you liked the film- pls tell your friends about it and watch us all get destroyed by an 18 foot Crocodile (sic)."
