Anurag Kashyap’s raw and authentic storytelling style will soon be seen in his upcoming directorial project called Bandar. Produced by Nikhil Dwivedi, the movie features Bobby Deol and Sanya Malhotra in the lead roles. Marking the first announcement of the project, the makers of the movie dropped its first poster featuring Bobby Deol sitting in a jail where other prisoners are fast asleep.

Anurag Kahyap’s Bandar-Monkey In A Cage has been selected for world premiere at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival. Announcing the same, the makers took to their Instagram and posted the first look of the poster and captioned it, “The Story that should not have been told… But is the Offical Selection at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival 2025. Our Film inspired from True Events is Premiering at #tiff50.”

Bandar will screen as part of TIFF's Special Presentations programme, which celebrates contemporary cinema from across the globe. The selection represents a significant milestone for Indian cinema at one of the world's most prestigious film festivals. Bandar has joined an impressive lineup of world premieres and international titles competing for attention at the festival.

The movie also features actresses Saba Azad and Sapna Pabbi in key roles. Anurag Kashyap, known for presenting real, raw and captivating stories, will bring his signature style to this movie as well. Actor Bobby Deol, who was praised for his phenomenal comeback in the movie Animal opposite Ranbir Kapoor, will lead the ensemble cast in this film.

Hailing the announcement, netizens poured love and shared their excitement on special media. A user wrote, “Acting masterclass by lord Bobby himself can’t wait for this my favourite director/actor combo.” Another one mentioned, “Woow congratulations.” Another user said, “All the very best.” A fan commented, “All the best, can’t wait.”

Apart from Bandar, Bobby Deol has an interesting line-up of upcoming projects which include the Telugu period drama Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1, the Hindi action thriller Alpha, and the Tamil film Jana Nayagan, which is set for release in 2026.
