Bigg Boss Kannada 12: The reality show Bigg Boss Kannada is in trouble. The shooting of season 12 at Jolly Wood Studios & Adventures in Bidadi Hobli, near Bengaluru, has come to a halt after the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) issued a shutdown notice. The action has been taken in the wake of the serious violation of the environmental regulations at the production site, discharging waste and untreated sewage directly into the sewer and other concerns.
Bigg Boss Kannada debuted with its twelfth season on September 28, hosted by Kichcha Sudeep. The most-watched reality show has abruptly come to a pause after a site inspection that raised concerns about waste disposal and sewage treatment at the show's studio. According to reports, the gates of the set located in Bidadi, Ramanagara district, have been sealed, and all the contestants were escorted out of the premises following the order.
According to the official orders, the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board stated that the premises are being used for large-scale entertainment and studio operations without obtaining the required Consent for establishment and Consent for Operation under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, and the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.

The notice further cautioned the authorities and Bigg Boss makers, that “failure to comply with this order will attract penal action under relevant environmental laws.”
During the inspection, it was discovered that untreated wastewater was being released from the property into its surroundings, violating water pollution norms.
The show’s production team reportedly stated that a 250 KLD-capacity Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) had been installed, but inspectors found the facility non-operational and lacking key drainage links.
Apart from the sewage concerns, KSPCB found that solid waste, including plastic cups, paper plates and other disposables, was not being sorted or segregated systematically. Inspectors noted that there was no clear process for managing waste or for operating the STP properly.
The future of the Bigg Boss Kannada 12 now depends on the studio’s ability to comply with environmental regulations with proper consent from the board. Until then, the filming and related activities at the BBK12 house will remain suspended.
Bigg Boss Kannada 12 house features mix of contestants, including Cockroach Sudhi, Manju Bhasini, Mallamma, Kavya Shaiva, Gilli Nata, Jhanvi, Dhanush Gowda, Ashwini Gowda, Abhishek Srikanth, Spandana Somanna, Dog Satish, Rashika Shetty, RJ Amit Pawar, Chandraprabha, Ashwini, Mallu Nipanal and Dhruvanth.
