Main Vaapas Aaunga Teaser Out: Imtiaz Ali has unveiled the teaser of his upcoming film Main Vaapas Aaunga, and it has already sparked excitement among movie lovers. The film features an impressive cast including Diljit Dosanjh, Naseeruddin Shah, Vedang Raina and Sharvari Wagh. The teaser was released on March 13 and offers a glimpse into what appears to be a touching story of love, longing and memory. The film is scheduled to release in cinemas on June 12, 2026.
The short video begins with Diljit Dosanjh’s character narrating a story while Naseeruddin Shah’s character lies on a bed, seemingly unwell. As the narration continues, the teaser shifts into flashbacks that reveal a romantic story that has lived in the character’s mind for decades. Viewers are then shown several tender moments between Vedang Raina and Sharvari Wagh, hinting at a love story that unfolds in the past. However, the emotional tone soon changes when Vedang’s character screams, “main vaapas aaunga."

Towards the end of the teaser, Diljit’s character delivers an unexpected line: “Zinda bache to like, comment and subscribe. #Partition,” which adds a modern twist and leaves viewers curious about the film’s storyline. The teaser also features a soulful track sung by Diljit, marking his first musical collaboration with the iconic trio of A. R. Rahman, Irshad Kamil and Imtiaz Ali.
Soon after the teaser was released, fans took to social media to share their reactions. One viewer wrote, “This is so dreamyy.” Another commented, “looking forward to thissss.” A third user shared, “That ‘Main waapis aaunga’ I AM NOT OKAY.” Another fan praised the music and visuals, writing, “Goosebumps. what a musical teaser with perfect cinematography, sound is so beautiful! Speaking about the film, Imtiaz Ali explained the emotional idea behind the story. “Can love really be lost? Can home be taken away from someone’s heart? The biggest story of the century is migration,” he said. He further added, “This tale of fiction derives almost entirely from stories of people during the Partition. The past is always present.”
Main Vaapas Aaunga marks another collaboration between Imtiaz Ali and Diljit Dosanjh after their acclaimed film Amar Singh Chamkila. The upcoming romantic drama will arrive in theatres on June 12, 2026.
