Actress Nimrat Kaur addressed rumours about her personal life, expressing sympathy for those who spread false speculations on social media. Her comments came in response to dating rumours with her Dasvi co-star Abhishek Bachchan that surfaced last year. Nimrat stated that she "pities" those who frame and circulate such rumours, showing her indifference to the gossip.
At the News18 SheShakti event, Nimrat Kaur said, "Social media apne aap mein ek aisa amoeba hain, wo kabhi bhi, kahi bhi ugta hain, kisi bhi reason se – bhale kaaran hain, nahi hain. Mera focus life mein kya hona chhaiye wo bohot clear hain. Mumbai sheher main social media ke liye nahi aayi thi, uss waqt tha bhi nahi. Smart phones bhi nahi the (In both cases, I’d be giving that thing some kind of validation. Social media is like an amoeba—it can sprout anywhere, anytime, for any reason—whether there’s a reason or not. I’m very clear about what my focus in life should be. I didn’t come to Mumbai for social media—it didn’t even exist back then. There were no smartphones either)."
"Mera life goal aur aim hain ke main kaam ki jama punji badhau naaki befaltu ke cheeze, jinn logo ke paas bohot samay hain, mujhe toh taras hi aata hain ke apne life ya apne samay ke saath kuch better hi karle. It’s futile and a waste of their time and life (My life goal and aim is to grow a solid body of work, not waste time on meaningless things that people with too much free time engage in. Honestly, I feel pity for them. They should really do something better with their life or their time. It’s futile—a complete waste of their time and life)," she further added.
Nimrat went on to state, "I pity them, it’s sad. I have that much compassion for them. Mujhe unki upbringing aur parivaar ke liye dukh hota hain (I pity them. It’s sad. I do have that much compassion. I feel sorry for their upbringing and for their families)."
Nimrat Kaur expressed that she genuinely feels bad for people who spread rumors and speculations about her personal life. She likened it to being bothered by a random person on the street saying something useless, suggesting that such individuals are likely in pain and in need of help. Nimrat emphasised that she has more important things to focus on in life and doesn't have time for such frivolous matters.
