Panchayat actor Aasif Khan has shared a health update after being hospitalised due to a health issue. It was reported to be a heart attack but the actor later clarified that it was gastroesophageal reflux disease, which felt like heart attack-like symptoms. Aasif, who is on a road to recovery, shared a post on Friendship Day revealing that he has quit smoking and hasn’t had a cigarette in 21 days. He shared a few pictures from the hospital with a health update, stating that he is much better and feeling stronger now.
Panchayat actor Aasif Khan Quits Smoking
Aasif Khan took to his Instagram handle on Sunday and shared a series of photos from the hospital with a powerful message, urging fans to prioritise health. His post read, "log kehte hain 21 din me har acchi buri aadat chhut jaati hai , today its been 21 days since i quit smoking its friendship day today to mujhe laga isse best day kya ho sakta hai apne dosto se me kitna pyar karta hoon ye batane k liye , zindagi me utaar chadav aate rehte hain lekin chadav me apke sath ek hujum chalta hai....logo ka sailaab bheed , lekin utaar me jo sath rahe un sabko happy friendship day."

Citing his personal experience, to share an important message, Aasif added, "Apni galtiyo ka ehsas karne k liye sahi logo ki pehchan karne k liye kisi hospital k bed pe jaane ka intezar mat kijiye, is bade bade shehro ki badi badi baato me mat kho jao apna sahaj apna sadharan apni saralta apne sath chalne do, chay pe raho logo ko dekh k black coffee pe mat jao, dosto se roz milo, zindagi k saude 20-30 rupay ki chizo se mat karo !!! bas bad me shayad kabhi hasunga ye baate padh k. (Don’t wait until you're lying in a hospital bed to realise your mistakes or to recognise the people who truly care about you. Don’t get lost in the big talk of big cities. Let your simplicity, your humility, your true self walk beside you. Stick to tea if that’s what you like — don’t switch to black coffee just to fit in. Meet your friends often. Don’t trade your life away for things worth 20 or 30 rupees. Maybe someday I’ll laugh while reading this… but not today.)

He also confirmed that he is back home, feeling much better and stronger.
Aasif Khan Did Not Have A Heart Attack
Earlier, in an interview with The Times Of India, Aasif Khan said, "First of all, I want to clarify-it was not a heart attack. It was gastroesophageal reflux disease. The symptoms felt like a heart attack, but I'm totally fit."
Aasif is known for portraying the role of Ganesh in the comedy series Panchayat on Prime Video. He features alongside Jitendra Kumar, Raghubir Yadav, Neena Gupta and others in the show. He has appeared in Mirzapur, Paatal Lok, Jamtara - Sabka Number Ayega and Human. Recently, he was seen in the horror comedy The Bhootnii starring Sanjay Dutt and Mouni Roy.
