Ranbir Kapoor And Deepika Padukone To Reunite For Ayan Mukerji’s Next Inspired By Raj Kapoor-Nargis’ Chori Chori | Report

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are reportedly teaming up again after ten years for a new film directed by Ayan Mukerji. Ranbir and Deepika, one of Bollywood’s most-loved on-screen pairs, last appeared together in Tamasha (2015). Before that, they starred in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Bachna Ae Haseeno, both of which were big hits and are still remembered for their chemistry. Fans are especially excited because this project reunites the actors with director Ayan Mukerji, who earlier delivered popular films like Wake Up Sid and YJHD.

According to a report in India Today, the movie will be loosely inspired by the 1956 Raj Kapoor-Nargis classic Chori Chori. This will also mark a special project for Ranbir, as he is said to be reviving the RK Films banner with this film. The original Chori Chori followed the bond between a runaway heiress and a sharp-tongued reporter. The upcoming film will not remake the story directly but will reinterpret its core idea in a modern, contemporary setting, with updated characters and a fresh narrative. The film is expected to be a modern tribute to Raj Kapoor and Nargis’ partnership, blending nostalgia with a fresh spin for today’s audience.

Ranbir Kapoor And Deepika Padukone’s Work Front

Currently, Ranbir Kapoor is gearing up for the release of his upcoming movie Love And War. Love and War brings Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal together for the first time in a Sanjay Leela Bhansali project. The film reportedly centres on a love triangle between two Air Force officers, played by Ranbir and Vicky, with Alia as the woman caught between them. Set against the backdrop of war, the film is expected to mix emotional drama with Bhansali’s trademark grand visuals. He also has Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana in his kitty. On the other hand, Deepika Padukone is set to star in King movie. The movie features Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role alongside daughter Suhana Khan.

Ranbir Kapoor-Deepika Padukone Relationship

Ranbir and Deepika, who began dating after working together in Bachna Ae Haseeno, eventually went their separate ways in 2010. Since then, both have moved on and built fulfilling personal lives. Deepika tied the knot with Ranveer Singh in 2019 and the couple welcomed their daughter, Dua, in 2024. Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor married Alia Bhatt in April 2022 and welcomed their daughter, Raha, in November 2022.
