Titled Baara Number, the upcoming movie will see him step back into the director's chair for a unique psychological horror narrative. The project brings together some of the most respected and versatile performers working in the Indian film industry today.
Vir Das Announces Star-Studded Cast For New Film Baara Number
The impressive cast list includes acclaimed actors such as Sheeba Chaddha, Atul Kulkarni, Arunoday Singh, Ahsaas Channa, and Shriya Pilgaonkar. Additionally, the film will star Niharika Lyra Dutt, Suhail Nayyar, Puja Sarup, and Naveen Kaushik. Vir Das himself will also take on a leading role in the movie, making it a highly anticipated venture for his fans.
Baara Number is being produced under Vir Das's own banner, Zazu Productions. For this dark project, he is once again collaborating with Kavi Shastri, who co-directed Das's recent spy comedy debut Happy Patel Khatarnak Jasoos. This time, Shastri will serve as the creative producer, helping to shape the eerie atmosphere of the film.
Baara Number is being designed as a found-footage horror story. This specific style of filmmaking presents events through the lens of raw, everyday cameras, giving the project a realistic, documentary-like quality. This genre was originally made famous on the global stage by hit Hollywood films such as The Blair Witch Project and Paranormal Activity.
