The Summer I Turned Pretty is one of the most-watched shows on OTT. At the end of season 3, it was announced that the series will be made into a movie which came as a surprise to the audience. The movie is set to serve as a direct continuation of the series finale. Recently, Jenny Han, author and showrunner of The Summer I Turned Pretty, alongside lead actress Lola Tung, revealed exciting news on The Today Show about the movie. As per the makers, the film will show Belly's journey as she deepens her relationship with Conrad, potentially exploring major life events like a wedding.

Tung said, "I mean, not much. We’ve known for a little bit, but it’s fun that it’s finally out there in the world. I guess (Jenny) would know the most about it."

The Summer I Turned Pretty creator Jenny Han revealed that the movie will focus on a significant milestone in Belly's life. Fans are speculating that this could be Belly and Conrad's wedding, a pivotal scene from the book trilogy that was notably absent from the series finale. The movie will explore themes of love, growth and self-discovery, providing closure for the beloved characters.

Han further explained about her move to conclude the show with a film. She said, "A movie gives the story its proper due; it’s a chance to wrap things up in a way that feels special and complete."
