Ramakant Daayama, a well-known character actor who performed in Bollywood, Marathi cinema, and television, died on Tuesday, May 26, at the age of 69 after a protracted illness. Actor and close friend Shubhangi Latkar confirmed the news of his demise in a heartfelt social media post.

Ramakant Daayama was a valued former member of the Executive Committee, and the Cine & TV Artistes' Association (CINTAA) also expressed condolences for his passing. The association recognised his commitment, insight, and significant contributions to the artistic community in its expression of sorrow. They also shared the details of his final rites.

Who Was Veteran Actor Ramakant Daayama?

Ramakant Daayama was well-known for his work in theatre, film, television, and digital media. He was highly regarded for giving character-driven performances, genuineness and emotional nuance. His parts in Chak De! India and the highly regarded web series Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story made him famous.

Ram Setu, Crew, Mumbai Saga, Brothers, Paa, and Drive were among his other roles. Additionally, he performed in a number of highly regarded productions, including Farzi, Bandish Bandits, Guri Dhairya Ki Love Story, The Trial and Made in Heaven.

Additionally, Ramakant Daayama starred in Baipan Bhari Deva (2023), one of the highest-grossing Marathi films. Premachi Goshta 2 and Sridevi Prasanna are two of his other recent Marathi films. He appeared in Hindi television series such as Kunwara Hai Par Hamara Hai, Saru, Mehndi Wala Ghar, Service Wali Bahu, and Roz Sunday.

Ramakant Daayama was a proud father of Yashaswini Dayama, an actress and influencer. She has acted in movies such as Phobia and Alia Bhatt-starrer Dear Zindagi.

Ramakant Daayama Last Rites

For antim darshan, Ramakant Daayama's mortal remains are kept at his Mumbai home. His last rites will take place at a crematorium in Andheri West, Mumbai.
