South Korean authorities have officially put the handcuffs on Kim Se-ui, the controversial face of the YouTube channel Hover Lab. Orchestrating a defamatory campaign against superstar Kim Soo-hyun. Prosecutors allege that Kim Se-ui didn't just spread rumours, he actively manipulated evidence to fabricate a story that the actor dated an actress while she was still a minor.
The Seoul Central District Court wasn't taking any chances, greenlighting an arrest warrant this Tuesday. The judge pointed to a very real risk of the YouTuber destroying evidence or making a run for it. It’s a major turning point for Kim Soo-hyun, whose career—usually gold-plated—took a serious hit as these false claims spiraled out of control.
The actor’s agency didn't hold back in a statement released Wednesday, declaring that the air has finally been cleared. They confirmed that the investigation found zero merit to the 'evidence' pushed by Hover Lab, thanking the loyal fanbase that refused to buy into the noise while the actor's reputation was under fire.
Even with a warrant hanging over him, Kim Se-ui remained defiant. Speaking to the press outside the courthouse, he slammed the charges as disorganised and insisted that the basic facts of the case were being misrepresented. Despite his protests, he remains in custody as the legal system begins to dismantle one of the biggest celebrity hit-pieces in recent Kdrama history.
