Rajkummar Rao, riding high on the success of Stree 2, has revealed that the highly anticipated third instalment in the Stree franchise is not in the immediate pipeline. While Stree 2 created history by grossing over ₹800 crore and becoming the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2024, the actor and the film’s makers are determined not to rush Stree 3.
In an interview with News18, Rajkummar shared that the team behind the franchise is focused on maintaining the quality and uniqueness of the series. “Stree 3 will definitely happen but not anytime soon. We won’t make it next year because we don’t want to create just another project. After the success of a film, there’s often pressure to cash in by quickly making sequels. But we’ve always prioritized quality over speed," he explained.
Rajkummar pointed out that there was a six-year gap between the first and second Stree films. However, fans won’t have to wait that long for the next chapter. “It will take some time, but not six years. We want to ensure the story, direction, and overall execution surpass the high standards set by the first two films,” he added.
