Ranbir Kapoor On Bobby Deol's Shirtless Avatar: Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Rashmika Mandanna in lead, hit the theatres on December 1, 2023. The movie is currently streaming on Netflix which got mixed reviews from viewers. Despite the Sandeep Reddy Vanga movie's success at the box office, some criticised it as 'misogynistic' due to its content. However, Bobby Deol's role in the film received widespread acclaim on social media. Recently, Ranbir Kapoor also opened up about how he got intimidated by Bobby Deol seeing him shirtless.

In an interview with Netflix India, Ranbir said, “Trainers were taking my photos in the gym because I was the first one to remove my shirt in the film. So, when I removed my shirt the whole unit started clapping that ‘hero ne shirt nikali (Hero has removed his shirt).’ Two days later, when Bobby’s shirt was removed, me and my trainer thought we are gone.”

In a discussion with Galatta Plus, Sandeep Reddy Vanga revealed that Bobby Deol's villain character was originally scripted to kiss Ranbir Kapoor on the cheek and express, "Bhai, I didn’t even spend one day with my father," before unzipping his jacket. Reflecting on the final confrontation scene, Vanga remarked, "It felt impactful during filming, but I sensed that the kiss was detracting from the intensity of the unzipping moment."
