Nam Joo Hyuk, known for his role in Twenty-Five Twenty-One, is all set to return to the small screen in the upcoming occult historical drama East Palace. The highly anticipated show will feature a star-studded cast including Our Blues actress Roh Yoon Seo and Divorce Attorney Shin star Cho Seung Woo.

Scheduled to premiere in 2025, East Palace is set against the backdrop of a dynasty and will explore a world filled with ghosts and spirits. Nam Joo Hyuk plays Gu Cheon, a powerful figure capable of slaying ghosts with his sword. He infiltrates the royal palace to uncover the truth behind a mysterious incident involving the royal family, only to be drawn into a dark, otherworldly realm that changes his life forever.

Roh Yoon Seo, who has earned recognition for her performances in Our Blues and Crash Course in Romance, will join Nam Joo Hyuk as Saeng Gang, a court lady with the cursed ability to hear ghosts. Alongside Gu Cheon, she embarks on a dangerous journey to uncover the royal family's secrets.

Cho Seung Woo, fresh off his success in Divorce Attorney Shin, takes on the role of the King, who secretly seeks Gu Cheon's help to unravel a long-hidden curse that has plagued the palace.

The drama is helmed by director Choi Jung Gyu, known for The Devil Judge, and the script is penned by the talented writers Kwon Sa Ra and Seo Jae Won, who previously worked on Bulgasal: Immortal Souls. Their collaboration has raised expectations for an exciting and suspense-filled storyline.

Fans are eagerly awaiting the premiere of East Palace as it brings together a talented trio in a thrilling occult drama that promises to be a captivating addition to Netflix’s 2025 lineup. Nam Joo Hyuk's involvement in this project comes after his discharge from mandatory military service in September 2024.
