Varun Dhawan ‘Feels’ Only South Indian Filmmakers Are Giving Him Action Genre Projects

Citadel: Honey Bunny’s trailer was released today. During the trailer launch event, Varun Dhawan said that the web series was a ‘wake up call’ for him. He expects that after the release of the show, viewers will change their perception of him. Varun claimed that only South Indian filmmakers are noticing his action skills onscreen. Apart from Citadel, he will be also seen in Atlee’s Baby John. Varun further shared that after showcasing his impeccable action scenes in both projects, Hindi filmmakers will approach him with more action movies. 

Talking about his experience in working on the show, Varun said, “I had a great time and it was a wake-up call for me. Hopefully, a lot of people will take notice of this.” 

“Right now, I just feel that only the South Indians are taking note of me and giving me great opportunities in action. I started working with Raj and DK and Sam and next, I’m working with Atlee and Kirti. Janhvi is also South Indian. Hopefully, that will lead the way for other people in our industry to give me action films,” he further added. 

Citadel: Honey Bunny also stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Emma Canning, Sikandar Kher, Kay Kay Menon, Raimundo Querido and Simran in key roles. Raj & DK’s directorial will be released on popular OTT platform Prime Video on November 7, 2024. It is the adaptation of the American web series Citadel which has been headlined by Priyanka Chopra.
