Jagran Correspondent, New Delhi | The Delhi Police launched a special initiative after the American probe agency's "Operation Hardball" against 37 gangsters operating in India and abroad. Police aimed at the complete dismantling of the underworld and gangster network that is rapidly expanding in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, and other states.
For the past decade, gangsters from foreign soil have been operating extortion rackets, murders, and contract killings in India, and have also begun committing gang wars and murders abroad. The increasing number of cases has forced the US investigative agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), to take action.

Red Corner Notices And Extradition Process Expedited
Under the operation, the Delhi Police has decided to completely dismantle the entire network of gangsters (financiers, shooters, and facilitators). Those in jail are being vigorously prosecuted in court by applying stringent laws like MCOCA and UAPA to prevent them from getting bail. The Delhi Police has expedited the Red Corner Notice and extradition process against fugitives, like Goldy Brar and Rohit Godara.
Delhi Police Set To Take All-Out Action
Following the filing of charges by the FBI in the United States against 37 gangsters, including Lawrence Bishnoi, Goldy Brar, Jaggu Bhagwan Puria, and Rohit Godara, the district police, including the Special Cell and Crime Branch, have prepared a report on the current status of cases registered in Delhi against gangsters like Lawrence Bishnoi, Goldy Brar, Jaggu Bhagwan Puria, and Rohit Godara. Under this operation, the police have decided to take all-out action to bring these gangsters from court to jail and bring those abroad to India.

Focus On Lawrence Bishnoi
Among the four gangsters reported to the FBI by Delhi Police, Lawrence, who is lodged in Sabarmati Jail, is said to be under Delhi Police's control. He has been arrested in 10 cases related to the Special Cell and Dwarka district, and is pending arrest in one case. The Cell also charged him under the MCOCA in 2021 and the UAPA in 2022. He has several cases registered against him under the Arms Act, attempt to murder, and forgery. He is scheduled to be arrested in a new case of extortion and threats registered at the Dwarka North police station in 2024.
Attempts To Trace Goldy Brar
Goldy Brar, a close associate of Lawrence, who is hiding abroad, is a most wanted man for the Delhi Police. The Special Cell and Crime Branch are searching for him in a total of six cases. In 2021, he fled abroad using a fake passport. This year, he is wanted for extorting crores of rupees from businessmen in the Chhawla, Mohan Garden, and Fatehpur Beri areas, threatening them, and carrying out life-threatening attacks.
Rohit Godara is also a fugitive. Rohit, who has become a terror figure in Rajasthan and Delhi-NCR, remains at large. The North, Rohini, Dwarka, and Shahdara district police are searching for him.
He is wanted in seven cases, including the 2022 Fake Passport and Explosives Act, organised crime, and extortion cases at Shaheen Bagh, Kashmere Gate, North Rohini, Shahdara, and Chhawla police stations.
The Special Cell has also registered a case against him for drug trafficking. Jaggu Bhagwan Puria is in a Delhi jail. The Special Cell had imposed MCOCA against him in 2021 and UAPA in 2022.
