Amritsar–Purnia Jan Seva Express Fire: A Massive fire broke out in the moving Jan Seva Express en route to Purnia in Bihar from Amritsar after a mobile phone that was on charge exploded.

The accident occurred at around 6:10 pm, when a fire broke out near Sonbarsa Kachahari station in Saharsa district, Bihar. The flames were quickly brought under control, and no injuries or fatalities have been reported.

According to a senior railway official, the fire occurred after a passenger’s mobile phone blasted while it was being charged, the Indian Express reported.

“Fire in train no. 14618 from Amritsar to Purnia Court at 18:10 in GS coach at Sonbarsa Kachahari near Saharsha in SPJ division. A passenger named Ram Kr has confessed that fire occurred due to his mobile blasted while in charging, and Co passengers have also agreed. Fire extinguished,” the official was quoted as saying in the report.

Massive Fire In Amritsar–Saharsa Garib Rath Express Train

Last week, a fire broke out in one of the coaches of the Amritsar–Saharsa Garib Rath Express, train number 12204, at Sirhind Station in Punjab, falling under the Northern Railway zone's jurisdiction. Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported in the incident.

Railway officials stated that the fire was noticed around 07:30 hrs. The authorities acted swiftly, relocating passengers to other coaches and promptly putting out the fire.
