The Agniveer recruitment rally of the Indian Army in Punjab will start today. The rally will be held from December 12 to 20 at the Sikh Li Football Ground near Urban Estate Phase-I. Hundreds of youths around Punjab are expected to participate in the recruitment rally due to which state administration enhanced the security arrangements in the area.
Male candidates from five districts of Punjab including Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur, Tarn Taran, SBS Nagar and Jalandhar will participate in the recruitment drive from December 12 to 18, while female candidates from Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh will take part in the rally from December 19 and 20.
The district administration has made all the necessary arrangements for the recruitment process, including accommodation, food, drinking water, lighting, toilets, medical teams, fire brigade and uninterrupted power supply, among others for the completion of the drive smoothly.
SDM Jalandhar-I Gursimran Singh directed the officials to ensure the convenience of the candidates participating in the recruitment drive. The police department was also instructed to make adequate security and traffic arrangements on the day of the recruitment rally.
People have been advised to avoid the road leading from the bus stand to Urban State as there may be a rush of youth in the area of Urban Estate Phase-I from December 12 to 20.
