A child was killed while two other migrants were injured after a car ran over them in Punjab’s Bathinda on Wednesday. The incident took place in the early morning when they were sleeping on the roadside. Police said the initial investigation revealed that the cause of the accident could have been low visibility caused by dense fog.

The injured individuals were rushed to the hospital where they are undergoing treatment. Police said that they have launched an investigation into the matter to ascertain the cause of the accident.   

In another incident, three people including a woman police officer were killed while several others were injured after a Punjab Armed Police bus collided with a tractor. The incident occurred in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur at around 6 am, police said.

The accident killed the bus driver, a female constable and another officer. Several other policemen sustained injuries. The bus had 15-20 policemen on board who were heading to Gurdaspur from the Jalandhar PAP centre, Mukeria Police Station in charge, Joginder Singh said.
