A massive fire broke out in a multi-storey commercial building in Karnataka capital Bengaluru on Wednesday afternoon. The blaze broke out at a pub in the Koramangala area of Bengaluru. The fire reportedly spread widely after a cylinder kept in the kitchen of the pub exploded. The sound of the blast was heard by the people in the area, who alerted the police and fire brigade. Thick black smoke could be seen rising from the building.

According to the reports, a video footage of the incident showed a man jumping off the fourth floor of the building to save his life. The man, who landed on a tree, was rushed to a hospital and was undergoing treatment. No casualties have been reported in the incident so far, according to news agency IANS. The staff of the pub escaped safely.

A few two-wheelers parked near the building were damaged as burnt sheets and other equipment of the pub fell down. The building was damaged badly as at least eight to 10 LPG cylinders exploded in the fire, damaging the building badly. The building also houses a car showroom.

Firefighters were rushed to the spot and the dousing operations were on till last reported. The firefighters continued operations to prevent the blaze from spreading to the nearby buildings.

The reason behind the blaze is yet to be ascertained. A gas leakage in the kitchen of the Mudpipe Hookah Cafe is suspected to have triggered the fire, the police said. The blaze quickly engulfed the entire pub. Sadduguntepalya police are investigating the case.

The people who noticed the smoke rising from the building, they rushed to rescue people who might be trapped, news agency PTI reported citing the fire brigade.
