Bihar's Bhojpur Set To Get Integrated Aqua Park With Aquaculture Tourist Spot Aiming To Create Jobs

Jagran Correspondent, Bhojpur | Bihar's Bhojpur is set to get the Integrated Aqua Park, which will be constructed on a 32-acre area at the Banasur Fish Seed Project in Nawadaven under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY). State Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary kick-started the project in Navadaven Panchayat in Udwantnagar block on June 15.

The chief minister, who will lay the foundation stone for the Integrated Aqua Park, will address a public meeting. The district administration is fully active in preparation for the chief minister's proposed visit and is busy finalising preparations. The District Magistrate has directed the concerned officials to complete all preparations in a timely manner. Nodal and Assistant Nodal Officers have been appointed to manage security, transportation, stage, drinking water, health, and other necessary arrangements at the venue.

Additionally, all officials have been instructed to monitor the work by conducting daily site inspections and coordinating with various departments.

National-Level Carp Hatchery To Be Built

The project will be completed with the joint cooperation of the Central and state governments. A national-level carp hatchery - an aquaculture facility designed for the controlled spawning, egg incubation, and hatching of carp, also known as a fish breeding centre - will also be constructed under the project.

The Central and state governments will participate in its construction in a 60:40 ratio. Under the scheme, the central government will spend approximately Rs 18.72 crore and the state government approximately Rs 12.48 crore. Officials said after the completion of this project, Bihar will be able to establish itself as one of the leading fish seed-producing states in the country.

Aquaculture Tourism Will Be Boosted

The integrated aqua park will not only promote fisheries but also open up new opportunities in the field of aquaculture tourism. This will increase local employment opportunities and directly benefit the region's fish farmers. Equipped with modern technology, the project will play a vital role in fish production, quality improvement, and better fish breeding.

The administration claims that the project will be completed within the stipulated timeframe, giving a new direction to the state's fisheries industry and strengthening the rural economy.
