Chennai Power Cut Sept 9: Chennai will experience power cuts in multiple parts of the city on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, as the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (Tangedco) carries out routine maintenance work. The supply will be suspended between 9.00 AM and 2.00 PM, with restoration planned earlier if work finishes ahead of schedule.

In Minjur, the outage will affect TH Road, Theradi Street, Siruvakkam, Suriya Nagar, B.D.O Office, Vannipakkam, Seemavaram, R-R Palayam, Ariyanvoyal, Pudhupedu, Nandhiambakkam, Melur, Pattamandhiri, Vallur, Athipattu, S.R. Palayam, G.R. Palayam, Kondakarai, Pallipuram, Vazhuthigaimedu and Karayanmedu.

Several stretches of Anna Salai will also face disruptions. These include Angappan Street, Moore Street, IInd Lane Beach Road, Linghichetty Street, Standard Chartered Bank, Errabalu Street, Mooker Nallamuthu Street, Stock Exchange, Indian Bank buildings, Jesus Calls, HSBC, UTI, Thambu Chetty Street, Armenian Street, NSC Bose Road, Badrian Street, Bunder Street, Malayaperumal Street, Anderson Street, Stringer Street, Umberson Street, Kuralagam, Law College Pumping Station and MMC Men’s Hostel.

Residents of Korattur and surrounding areas such as Mannurpet, Railway Station Road, MTH Road, Padi, Mugappair Road, TNHB, KR Nagar, Thillai Nagar, Kannagi Nagar and Jumbukeshwarar Nagar will also be affected.

In Porur, localities including Iyyappanthangal, R.R. Nagar, Kattupakkam, Pushpa Nagar, Valasaravakkam, Porur Garden (Phase I and II), Urban Tree, Arcot Road, Chinna Porur, Vanagaram, Karambakkam and Poonamallee Road are among those listed for scheduled power suspension.

Tangedco has advised residents to plan accordingly and assured that electricity will be restored as soon as the work is completed.
