Dehradun Police have arrested two people for allegedly supplying fake medicines worth Rs 20 lakhs in Delhi. Police said that they recovered about 1.5 lakh fake tablets and capsules during a raid operation conducted in Delhi which could have been hazardous to people’s health.
The fake medicine factory was exposed by a joint team of Himachal Pradesh's Raipur police station and Special Operations Group (SOG) of Dehradun in Haridwar, where the medicines were manufactured.
Police said that the main accused, Sachin Sharma, supplied fake medicines worth lakhs to three companies in Delhi. Dehradun SSP Ajay Singh said that they have initiated an investigation to look into the matter and efforts are underway to apprehend other members of the fake medicine racket.

In another incident, four youths who committed hooliganism, vandalism and aerial firing near Chandrabhaga Bridge in Rishikesh were arrested by Dehradun police on Saturday. The police have seized a country-made pistol, three live cartridges, two hockey sticks, one stump, and a car used by the accused.
