Delhi Fire: 13, Including Policemen, Fire Brigade Personnel Injured After LPG Cylinder Explodes At House In ​​Adarsh ​​Nagar

Delhi Fire: At least 13 people, including six policemen and fire brigade personnel injured after an LPG cylinder exploded in northwest Delhi's Majlis Park on Sunday. The fire was so intense that it spread to the nearby premises, damaging the vehicles and property parked in the stilt area.

The fire brigade officials and police personnel rushed to the spot soon after receiving information about the firing incident.

Police and fire personnel were injured in an attempt to douse the fire that erupted around 9 am at the house. Several locals who were present at the building or nearby also received injuries at the time. The fire was brought under control after sustained efforts for hours by the fire department.

LPG Explodes During Fire-Dousing Operation

According to police, an LPG cylinder exploded during the operation, causing injuries to several personnel engaged in dousing the flames and evacuating residents.

Three police personnel from Adarsh Nagar police station and three officials from the Wazirpur Fire Office sustained injuries in the incident. All the injured were initially taken to Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial Hospital for treatment. Later, seeing the serious nature of the injuries, they were shifted to Safdarjung Hospital.

What Might Have Caused The Fire?

A preliminary inquiry was launched soon after controlling the fire. Police said they are examining whether the blaze originated from an electrical short circuit or LPG leakage in the parking area. An eyewitness said that 13 people, including three fire personnel, three police personnel and seven bystanders, sustained injuries.

"The fire broke out in the stilt parking area of the building around 9 am and quickly spread to the upper floors, triggering panic among residents and bystanders. The blaze started when a scooter battery was being charged in the parking area," said the eyewitness.
