In a major relief to the millions of people, a new corridor is being planned to connect the Agra-Lucknow Expressway with the Purvanchal Expressway. The project will provide relief to lakhs of passengers travelling from Delhi and western parts of Uttar Pradesh to Eastern UP or Bihar. The link road will significantly reduce the travel time and will also cut the traffic congestion, especially around Lucknow. Along with improving the travel experience, the project will also boost the financial activities in these regions.
As per the reports, the proposed link road will be around 51 kilometers long, and the total construction cost is likely to be over Rs 4,000 crore. The corridor will enhance the connectivity across the state, providing direct connectivity between the eastern and western districts. The reports suggest that the commuters from Delhi, Noida, Agra, and other nearby districts will be able to access the Purvanchal Expressway without entering Lucknow.
The project will provide major relief to the long-distance travellers, especially from Delhi to Bihar or eastern Uttar Pradesh. Along with these passengers, the corridor will also provide relief to the local residents of Lucknow as it will reduce traffic congestion in the capital city of Uttar Pradesh.
While the project was proposed earlier, it got delayed due to obstacles in the land acquisition process in the rural regions. However, the officials have now assured that over 3,000 farmers have given their consent to the acquisition process. The authorities have also clarified that the farmers will receive attractive compensation for the land.
In separate news, the authority stated that a link road will be constructed between New Noida and the Ganga Expressway. The officials stated that the project will pass through Bulandshahr district. The officials stated that the land acquisition process will begin shortly, adding that the project report will also be prepared soon.
