- GMRL is planning to begin the metro services between Millennium City and Hero Honda Chowk

Jagran Correspondent, Gurugram: In a major update for the residents, the Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) is reportedly planning to begin the metro services between Millennium City and Hero Honda Chowk within two years. As per the reports, the tender process for construction of a depot near Hero Honda Chowk has been initiated by the authorities. The construction work is expected to begin soon once the tender process is finished.
Project To Be Completed Within 2 Years
The metro corridor will be developed from the Millennium City Metro Station to the Rapid Metro Station near Ambience Mall, reported Jagran. The authorities stated that the project will be completed in two phases, adding that the construction for the first phase has already begun. While the first phase has been scheduled between the Millennium City Metro Station to Basai, the second phase will be built from Basai to the Ambience Mall.
The construction of both the phases is likely to be completed in the next four years, the authorities confirmed. As per the reports, along with finishing the construction, the GMRL is also planning to begin the metro services on the first phase by the end of 2028. The metro services till Hero Honda Chowk will boost the regional connectivity by cutting the travel time and reducing traffic congestion.
GMRL To Build 28.5 km Long Corridor
- A 28.5 km corridor will be developed from the Millennium City Metro Station to Cyber Hub near Ambience Mall
- The GMRL will build stations at several key sites, including Sector-45, Cyber Park, Sector-47, Subhash Chowk, Sector-48, Sector-72A, Hero Honda Chowk, Udyog Vihar Phase-6, Sector-10, Sector-37, Basai Village, Sector-9, Sector-7, Sector-4, Sector-5, Ashok Vihar, Sector-3, Bajghera Road, Palam Vihar Extension, Palam Vihar, Sector-23A, Sector-22, Udyog Vihar Phase-4, Udyog Vihar Phase-5 and Cyber City
- Along with this project, a corridor will also be developed from Sector-5 to Gurgaon Railway Station and from Basai to Dwarka Expressway to boost the regional connectivity.
