A video has gone viral on social media, showing a woman apologising after using abusive language against the Prime Minister during the Cockroach Janata Party protest. This comes days after a complaint was filed against her at a Noida police station over her remarks against PM Narendra Modi. Noida Police filed a Zero FIR, which was later transferred to Parliament Street Police Station in New Delhi.
Wearing a striped shirt, with folded hands, the girl said, "I came under the influence of some people at the protest and said a lot of bad things against the Prime Minister.” The girl claimed to be 15 years old whereas the FIR filed against her mentioned that she is 25 years old.
"I am only 15 years old. Whatever I did was not worthy of forgiveness. I have said a lot of bad things," she added. Calling the incident her “first” and “last” mistake, she said, "I apologise to the entire country. I am so ashamed. I can't even look at myself. Please forgive me."
The complainant claimed that her comments insulted the dignity of the Prime Minister's office and could spread disharmony and disturb public peace.
Pm Modi's Message
The apology video surfaced shortly after PM Modi posted a video on Instagram, calling for restraint and forgiveness following abusive slogans directed at him during student protests. In the video posted on Friday night, PM Modi said that "abuses never solve anything" and urged people to guide, rather than punish, those who had gone astray.
"What happened at Jantar Mantar has been seen by the country and the world," he said. "Some misguided youngsters used language that has no place in any civilised society. I was abused, and even my late mother was abused."
The Complaint
On Wednesday, the UP police registered a zero FIR, which allows a complaint to be filed at any police station regardless of the crime’s location, under Sections 352 (intentional insult to provoke breach of peace), 353(1) (statements conducive to public mischief), and 356(1) (defamation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the Motorway police station, based on a complaint by a Ghaziabad resident, Smriti Singh.

The complainant alleged that Ms Ruchika Singh, a Noida resident, used “abusive and objectionable” language against Mr Modi, thereby undermining “the dignity of the constitutional office”. She claimed that the remarks were intended to “spread hatred and disrupt public peace”.
