ISI Conspiracy: Social Media Monitoring Leads To 60 Arrests From Pak-Based Gangster Shahzad Bhatti Terror Module

Jagran Correspondent, New Delhi: The conspiracy of the Pakistani intelligence agency ISI and the gangster Shahzad Bhatti module is currently posing a significant challenge to the country. For the past six months, this module has been on the radar of central agencies and state police counterterrorism units, resulting in the daily arrest of its terrorists.

Previously, only terrorists affiliated with Shahzad Bhatti were being apprehended, but in the past few months, terrorists associated with three or four of Shahzad Bhatti's associates have also been apprehended. As per security agencies, this is all a ploy by the ISI.

How Many Terrorists Have Been Arrested So Far?

Once a conspiracy is uncovered, the ISI adopts another tactic. So far, the Special Cell has arrested approximately 60 terrorists from the Shahzad module. Social media monitoring will continue, leading to the capture of many more terrorists in the future. Security agencies have decided to completely dismantle this module.

The cell hopes to obtain information about several others from the interrogation of the six terrorists arrested early Monday. All of them are on the cell's remand until July 9. During this period, they will also be taken to Punjab and Uttar Pradesh for investigation.

According to investigators, two of the accused identified as Danish and Salman, residents of Khatauli in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar district were allegedly directed by their Pakistani handler to carry out a petrol bomb attack on a sensitive government installation or a police station in Delhi.

Danish Allegedly Assigned To Execute Attack

According to the investigation, Danish and Salman arrived in Delhi on Sunday evening on a stolen motorcycle, carrying three petrol bombs concealed in a bag.

Police said Danish was assigned to throw a petrol bomb at an important government establishment or a police station in the early hours of Monday, while Salman was responsible for recording the attack on his mobile phone.

Investigators alleged that the video was to be sent to their Pakistani handler, who planned to circulate it on social media to spread fear and panic. However, the Special Cell arrested both suspects late Sunday night before the alleged plot could be carried out. Their interrogation subsequently led investigators to three more accused, who were arrested near Vijay Ghat.
