Gulmarg, which is a popular tourist destination in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, recorded the lowest temperature of the season at minus eight degrees Celsius on Monday. The rest of the valley also experienced sub-zero temperatures with Pahalgam recording a minimum temperature at minus 5.8 degrees Celsius while Srinagar experienced a minimum temperature of 0.5 degrees Celsius.  

The Meteorological Department said that the weather would remain dry and clear till December 28 with no major change in the minimum or maximum temperatures. The met department also said that there was no possibility of snowfall or rain in the coming days.

The valley had witnessed heavy snowfall on Saturday, which disrupted normal life and affected road and air connectivity. However, the weather improved on Sunday and the sun shined brightly in most parts of the region, including Jammu, where the maximum temperature was 21 degrees Celsius and the minimum was recorded at 6.1 degrees Celsius.
