Kalkaji Sewadar Murder Case: The Delhi High Court on Monday issued an order in the case of the brutal murder of a sewadar in the Kalkaji temple in the evening of August 29. The court has directed the Delhi Police to take action under the provisions of the Indian Civil Security Code (BNSS) for investigation. The order was issued during the hearing of the petition filed by the deceased's brother and two eyewitnesses.

Next Hearing On September 19

The court has issued a notice to the Delhi Police and ordered them to submit a status report. The petitioners have demanded that the investigation into the murder be transferred from the Delhi Police to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The petition also demanded that the security of the temple complex be handed over to the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The next hearing of the case has been scheduled for September 19.

The sewadar was murdered over a dispute on 'chunni prasad' as per the Delhi police. The victim, 35-year-old Yogendra Singh, was the sewadar in Kalkaji Temple for the last 15 years. The incident was caught on CCTV, where the attackers can be seen beating the sevadar brutally with sticks.

Deceased Was A Resident Of UP's Hardoi

After the assault, the sewadar was taken to AIIMS Trauma Centre for treatment, where he died. Yogendra Singh was a resident of Hardoi in UP. The local people caught one of the attackers, accused Atul Pandey (30), and handed him over to the police.
