Karnataka Sex Scandal: An arrest warrant was issued on Saturday against Prajwal Revanna, Hassan MP and the key accused in the Karnataka Sex Scandal case. A court issued the warrant at the request of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the case. Revenna is currently absconding in the matter and is believed to be out of the country. He did not appear before the SIT, even after being served with multiple summons by the probe agency.
Earlier, the INTERPOL also issued a blue corner notice against him at the request of SIT. He reportedly departed for Germany on April 27
Earlier today, HD Deve Gowda, former Prime Minister and the patriarch of the family spoke for the first time on the allegations of sexual harassment against son HD Revanna and grandson Prajwal Revanna and said that no one should be spared in the case. He demanded action against other people involved in the case.
His remarks came days after HD Revanna was released on bail in a kidnapping case involving one of the alleged victims of the case.
BJP Leader's charge against DK Shivakumar
The Karnataka sex scandal case took a fresh turn on Friday after the arrested BJP leader G Devaraje Gowda claimed that Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka DK Shivakumar offered him Rs 100 crore for defaming Prime Minister Modi and JD (S) leader HD Kumaraswamy. He also alleged that Shivakumar sent Rs 5 crore as advance for the task, but he refused.
"After I refused the offer, police cases were lodged against me and I was arrested. I am ready to expose him (DK Shivakumar) once I am released. The Congress government is going to collapse in Karnataka," Gowda claimed."They had planned in a big way to bring disrepute to Prime Minister Modi, and the BJP. They offered me ₹ 100 crore and sent ₹ 5 crore as advance to Room No. 110 at Bowring Club. A local leader from Channarayapatna, Gopalaswamy, was sent to negotiate the deal," he said.
Responding to the allegations of Gowda, Karnataka Deputy CM and Congress leader DK Shivakumar said on Saturday rejected his claims and termed him 'mentally ill.'
"Let him file a complaint to Lokayukta or anyone. He has some mental issues. It’s all baseless and I don’t want to talk about it. I don’t want to talk about people who are mentally ill. The party will take a decision."
