KMP Expressway Toll Rates Hike: The authorities on Monday announced that traveling on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway will become costlier from April 1. Along with the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), the Haryana State Industrial & Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) has also issued new toll rates, stating that the revised rates will be implemented from March 31 midnight onwards.

While providing details, the authorities stated that the KMP Expressway is 135.6 km long, and there are a total of 12 toll plazas on this expressway. They further stated that the process of collecting tolls under the revised rates will commence post-Monday midnight. Apart from this, the HSIIDC stated that it has increased the toll rates by 3.4 per cent, adding that the rates will be applicable for the next year.

However, this is the third consecutive year in which the HSIIDC has announced an increment in the toll rates. While the authority has increased the toll rate by 3.4 per cent this year, it was 2.5 per cent in the last year. The authority had announced a hike of 7.5 per cent in 2023, the maximum in the past few years. The revision in the toll rates has affected the travelers of these regions; however, the authority stated that the amount was used for development projects.

More than one lakh vehicles reportedly operate on the KMP Expressway on a daily basis, making it one of the most important expressways in the state. While HSIIDC earlier used to release tenders for toll management, it stopped it after receiving complaints.

The authority has installed high-vision cameras at all the toll plazas, making them manpower-free. The authority stated that the staff have only been deployed for the vehicles not using fast tags, adding that they pay the amount in cash. It further stated that there are multiple maintenance projects ongoing on the expressway.
