A gangster, Inderpreet Singh alias Perry, was shot dead in Chandigarh's Sector 26 on Monday night. Three assailants shot a car-borne Perry, who has a link to the Lawrence Bishnoi group. The victim, a resident of Sector 33, has been admitted to PGI Hospital in a critical condition. Police are investigating the matter.

Around nine rounds were fired, said police officials, adding that eight empty shells have been recovered from the spot. One live cartridge was also recovered from the site.

Preliminary examination suggests 4-5 bullet wounds on the victim's body. Officials said the exact cause of death and further details will be confirmed after the post-mortem.

Gang Rivalry Led To Murder

Police sources also indicated that the incident may be linked to gang rivalry, as the deceased had several criminal cases registered against him. The officials said the investigation is ongoing, and officials said all aspects, including possible involvement of rival groups, are being thoroughly examined.

As per the police, the forensic team is examining evidence from the spot, and CCTV footage is also being reviewed. The deceased's body has been kept in PGI, Chandigarh, for postmortem.

Social Media Post Claims Killing

A social media ( on the name of gangsters Aarzoo Bishnoi, Hari Boxer) claimed that Parry was killed for “betraying” the gang by siding with “their rival Brar”.
