The results for the Bihar Municipal Election 2022 will be declared on Friday. The counting of votes polled during the second phase began at 8 am. The voting for the second and last phase of the election was held on December 28. The voting for the Bihar Nagar Palika Election was held for the Patna Municipal Corporation along with 16 other municipal corporations, two nagar parishads, and 49 nagar panchayats on Wednesday.

During the second phase of the polls, voting was held in 1,529 wards across 23 districts. A total of 11,127 candidates are in the fray in the second phase, which consists of 5,154 males and 5,973 females. The electoral tussle is for 1,525 posts of ward councillors, 68 posts of chief councillors, and 68 posts of deputy councillors. According to the State Election Commission, 57.17 per cent of the nearly 62 lakh voters exercised their voting rights during the second phase of the Bihar municipal polls.

- For the post of Patna mayor, a close fight was going on between the outgoing mayor Sita Sahu and Mehjabi. So far Sita Sahu is leading in the first place by getting 64849 votes. While Mazhabi is in second place with 39919 votes, Vinita Bittu is in third place with 29091 votes.

- As the counting of the Patna Nagar Nigam election is underway. In Bihar Sharif, the competition is tough among the candidates. Sushma Rai won from Ward No. 29 and Mohd. Shamim won from Ward no 40 and from 41, it was Sarfaraz Ahmed who declared victorious.

- The counting of votes for the Patna Nagar Nigam election continues. Sita Sahu is leading as the mayoral candidate of Patna Municipal Corporation. Till now she has bagged 30322 votes. The competition for second place is going, while third place is reserved by Vinita Bittu with 16528 votes.

- The counting of the Patna Nagar Nigam election is underway. Usha Devi won for the first time by getting 2,166 votes defeating Panpatiya Devi from Ward 4 of Patna Municipal Corporation.

Sushila Kumari won from ward 22A of Patna Municipal Corporation.

Usha Devi has won from ward 4 after defeating Panpatiya Devi.

- The counting of votes in the second phase started in Rohtas district. As per the latest updates, Guddu Paswan from Sasaram Municipal Corporation Ward 1 and Saroj Kumar from Ward 6 won the election.

- By a margin of 6 votes, Santosh Kumar Singh prevailed in the election for Motihari Municipal Corporation's Ward No. 1. He received 378 votes, compared to Shabana Begum's 373.

- In the Arrah Municipal Corporation Election, Kausar Jahan won elections from Ward 1 and Kiran Devi from Ward 2. Whereas Gulshan Khatoon marked victory from Ward 2. Meanwhile, candidates outside the counting hall created a ruckus due to mismanagement and demanded to strengthen the system. 

- In Bakhri Municipality, candidate Kumari Pinki has won from Ward number 1 and Alam Ara from Ward 2 and Shivnarayan Das from Ward 3. Chhathiya Devi, who has been declared as the candidate for Ward 1 of Patna Municipal Corporation, has become the ward councillor by getting 4533 votes. On the other hand, Ramji is in second place, with 3,272.

- Chief Councilor Sartaj Alam from Koilwar Nagar Panchayat won the election by 17 votes in a tough contest. While Ashish Kumar Sinha has been declared victorious from Ward 38 of Patna Municipal Corporation. He was earlier a member of the Standing Committee.

- The result of ward number 21 of Patna Municipal Corporation has been declared. Shweta Ranjan has won and she bagged 1,150 votes.

- Gautani Shweta Ranjan defeated the outgoing councillor, Pinky Kumari, in Ward 21 of Patna Municipal Corporation.

- Affar Ahmed has been declared victorious with 4,580 votes from From Ward No. 40 of Patna Municipal Corporation and Satish won from ward number 47. 

- As the counting of votes is underway, Kaveri Singh won the election from Patna Municipal Corporation Ward number 30. 

- In Bettiah Election, Deputy Chief Councilor Kishori Devi won in Lauria. Lauria Nagar Panchayat Chief Councilor Sita Devi won by 1000 votes.

- List of winning candidates from Nagar Panchayat Jandaha. Anil Kumar Das won from Ward 1 to Anil Kumar Das, Ram Vivek Jha from Ward 2, Phool Kumari Devi from Ward 3, Vinod Kumar Chowdhary from Ward 4, Madina Khatoon from Ward 5, Babita Devi from Ward 6, Dilip Mahto from Ward 7, Vimla Devi from Ward 8, Amrita Devi from Ward 9 and Deepak Kushwaha from Ward 10. Santosh Kumar from Ward 11, Pooja Kumari from Ward 12, Mohammad Noor Alam from Ward 13 while Ward 14 was won by Tinkal Devi.

- List of winning candidates in Goraul Nagar Panchayat. Julie Kumari won the panchayat election from Ward 1, Kapil Dev Paswan from Ward 2, Ramu Rai from Ward 3, Raisa Khatoon from Ward 4, Sujit Kumar from Ward 5, Vikas Kumar from Ward 6, Anju Kumari from Ward 7.

- Gopal Prasad won Ward 10 in the Gaya Municipal Corporation elections. He defeated former Mayor Ganesh Paswan in the election. Meanwhile, Ashish Kumar Sinha won from Patna Ward 38. He has won for the third time in a row.

- Anita Devi has won the Ward 22 of Patna Municipal Corporation for the second time.

- The posts of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor in Patna are reserved for women. There are 32 candidates for the post of mayor, 16 for deputy mayor and 477 candidates for the post of councillors in 75 wards.

- For the first time, the public is going to directly elect the mayor and deputy mayor of Patna. However, due to the low voting percentage, the election results are going to be interesting. Only 37 per cent of people voted in Patna Municipal Corporation.

- The Patna Police has made elaborate preparations for maintaining peace in the area after the counting of votes and victory in the municipal elections. During this, 2,600 additional troops have been deployed in the entire capital including the counting centre. If needed, the help of the reserve force will also be taken.

- Three-tier security arrangements have been made outside the counting centre located at AN College. Section 144 is applicable within 200 meters of the counting centre. Arrest orders have been given as soon as illegal entry is made.

- The counting of votes started at 8 am in Patna today. The second phase of polling in Patna was held on December 28.
