The deceased, identified as Preeti Verma, used the henna to urge the police not to let her family touch her body. As the investigation intensifies into the 13-year marriage, the Chaurai Police are now probing the chances of whether it is physically possible for a person to apply mehendi on both of their own hands.
The couple has a 10-year-old daughter from their marriage. Lakhan claimed that their 12-year-old son had died of cancer nearly five months ago.

What Did She Write On Her Death Note?
The deceased made serious allegations against her in-laws in the death note. Preeti allegedly wrote that her husband, Lakhan, used to hurl abuses at my mother and sister. "My mother and sister-in-law wouldn't even let me touch him (Lakhan). My mother-in-law insulted me frequently; I have all the call recordings," she allegedly wrote. "Don't let them (husband and in-laws) touch my body," Preeti added on her death note.
How Did The Incident Occur?
Lakhan and Preeti had an argument on Friday over a familial issue. Following this, Lakhan left for work and did not return home at night. The cops believe that Preeti had written the inscription during those hours.
In the morning, Preeti had sent her daughter for school. When the minor returned home, she found her mother lying unconscious. The family soon shifted her to a nearby hospital. However, Preeti died while receiving treatment on Sunday.
Deceased's Family Makes Serious Allegations
Preeti's mother, Rajkumari Janghela, and brother, Hariom Janghela, alleged that their daughter was frequently assaulted with bricks, stones, and iron rods by her in-laws. Janghela claimed that her daughter was being forcibly made to consume pesticide.
They stated that two or three complaints were filed at the police station, but each time, her husband, Lakhan Verma, would leave promising a compromise, only to repeat the torture. Continued distress and harassment forced Preeti to take this extreme step.
Investigations Underway
Ashish Dhurve, the in-charge of Chhindwara Kotwali Police Station, stated that the Chaurai police station has registered a case and is currently conducting investigations. in the Chaurai police station and that investigations are underway. Meanwhile, Chaurai Police Station in-charge Mohan Merckole stated that statements will be taken from all parties, after which further action will be taken.
Satish Mishra, a retired DSP of the Lokayukta Police, says that writing with both hands is generally difficult. Only a handwriting expert can provide further clarity on whether the woman wrote it or someone else. However, the angle of the henna may make it easier to write large letters with both hands. The rest of the situation will become clear after the police investigation.
