In the latest updates on the Jamui incident, the police arrested one of the main accused, who made objectionable videos of the minor students and then circulated those on social media. The accused has been identified as Ramashish Chaudhary, a resident of Madwa. 

The Jamui police said the video of the indecent incident involving the minors was uploaded and circulated on various internet media platforms by Ramashish Chaudhary. It was only after the video quickly went viral that senior officials were alerted, prompting an FIR to be registered and a special team to be formed. So far, four accused have been arrested in this case.

How did the police nab the accused?

During the investigation, the police technical team identified the accused by tracking the video's digital footprints and IP trail, leading to Ramashish Chaudhary's arrest in Madwa. Police are conducting extensive interrogations to determine whether he recorded the video himself or received it from another source before making it public. Investigators are also identifying the WhatsApp groups and social media accounts where the video was shared.

What's the case?

The incident occurred on September 19 at approximately 7:00 PM. After finishing their coaching classes, the two minors went for a photo session and were travelling on a scooter when a group of men intercepted them, Jagran.com reported.

The men confronted the minors in an isolated area, harassing, humiliating, and verbally abusing them. The situation escalated when one of the individuals grabbed the girl from behind and forcefully dragged her away, inappropriately touching her as captured in the video.

e let us go"). Despite her pleas, the group continued to harass and humiliate the duo.

Earlier, an official FIR was registered at the Sadar police station under the POCSO Act and relevant non-bailable sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita (BNS) against the accused.
