A family travelling to Delhi from Noida was forced to face a near-death experience after the cab they booked decided to evade a police check by increasing the speed of the vehicle. The routine cab journey turned dangerous, leading to the passengers pleading driver to stop the car.
The incident took place near Parthala Bridge, Noida, when police inspector signalled the driver to stop and came to light after the victim, Sanjay Mohan, shared a video clip showing the cab running at high speed and the driver refusing to let passengers get off. The video went viral on August 14.

Mohan, through an X post, recounted the horrifying incident and tagged Uber along with the Noida police. Mohan was travelling from Greater Noida West to Connaught Place with his wife and daughter.
As per Mohan’s X post, the Uber driver accelerated the speed and drove recklessly after the traffic police tried to stop him.
Detailing the incident on X, Mohan wrote, “A horrible experience with @Uber @Uber_Support , today me and my family was en-route to CP from noida. Near to Parthala Bridge Noida a police intercepter vehicle asked the driver to stop the car but the driver didn’t stop and trying to escape from police vehicle."
Uber’s Response To Viral Post
Responding to a viral video, Uber India said, “Hello there, we'd be glad to take a look at this for you. Please share your registered phone number and email ID associated with your Uber account. We'll follow up with you soon.'' Sanjay provided his phone number to the company later.

Taking action against the driver over the viral video, the police registered a case against the driver, took him into custody and seized the vehicle. A fine of Rs 29,250 was imposed, and further legal proceedings are underway.
