Patna Traffic Advisory: THESE Routes Closed For Two Days | Check Diversions, Alternate Routes

Jagran Correspondent, Patna City: The Patna Traffic Police have issued an advisory announcing a two-day closure of Ashoka Rajpath at the Gaighat intersection under the jurisdiction of the Alamganj police station.

According to the advisory, the route will be closed on Thursday and Friday, during which time all vehicular traffic and pedestrians will be strictly prohibited from entering the area. Commuters are advised to plan their journeys in advance, use alternate routes, and avoid the affected stretch.

Work On Old Mahatma Gandhi Bridge

According to a report by Jagran.com, the work to remove the dilapidated railings and footpaths on the old Mahatma Gandhi Bridge began late Wednesday night. In view of safety concerns, the Patna Traffic Police have advised commuters to use the north and south U-turns of the Gandhi Bridge onto Ashoka Rajpath.

Indrajit Kumar, in charge of the Gaighat police post, said that this altered traffic arrangement will remain in place for two days until the debris is completely cleared.

Alternative Routes

- Those heading toward Patna City from Alamganj via Ashoka Rajpath are advised to take a left U-turn behind the Sudha booth at Gaighat to proceed forward.

- Those travelling from Patna City toward Alamganj via Ashoka Rajpath will have to take a left U-turn behind the Traffic Outpost (TOP) under the bridge to reach Ashoka Rajpath.

Speaking to Jagran.com, the TOP-in-charge said that an adequate number of police personnel will be deployed on-site to manage the diverted traffic and prevent congestion. During this period, strict action will be taken against those who illegally park tempos on Ashoka Rajpath, east and west of the bridge near Gaighat.
